House of Children

This is the place where the child is made as an observer as well as tuned to understand the practical life that gives them a chance to change their own environment in an orderly manner with clean ambiance making it a second home that is facilitative to carry out the daily activities which looks simple in a joyous manner under restricted guidance. The responsibilities given to the child are:

1. Customizing their own room,
2. Keeping their own belongings,
3. Emptying wastebasket
4. Segregating groceries,
5. Maintenance of given place – clean and tidy.
6. Arranging flowers.
7. Preparing their own bed to lie down

This is a mixed classroom of 2.5 to 6 years and is changed as a house for work with joy that is a complete pack of conservative and restorative functions suitable for themselves to tune their own.

What we do?

We focus to make the child realize concrete to abstract form and on the below 5 major objectives that help to lead a life suitable for a balanced life.

1. Exercise of practical life

Exercising of practical life involves the classroom maintenance, understanding their responsibility, complete modulation of their ambience according to their own requirement. The child here is tuned to lead a purposeful life refining their motor activities, control over movements, logical thinking, order maintenance, concentration development. The child is motivated to carry-forward their social and independent activities, developing daily life activities through real and purposeful work. They are made to understand culture and adaptation.

2. Sensorial Activities

Sensorial activities improve the use of hand and mind. The materials are utilized to enhance a child to coordinate hand and eye, refines motor skills, understanding of their own space, constancy of objects, skill categorization. Exercises include research, categorization deepening the child’s understanding of his world. These sensorial materials start its base for Geometry sessions for his/her 6 to 12 levels. This brings normalization in our children.

3. Language

Language is the aid to communicate their requisites. For which, the child is given independence to express their feelings and ideas with others. This communication is pursued in an enriched method, such as sessions that evolve child’s vocabulary with better awareness on all three aspects: speaking, reading, writing sentence structures. This, in turn, helps the child to prepare its ability to understand others. They convey uniquely to fulfil their requirements and pass-on emotions into words and put across others.

The writing part is strengthened with sound identification, symbol differentiation, words creation. Following which cursive letters are included in their learning. The three steps practiced under this are

• Emphasis on phonics,
• Letter Names
• Alphabetical ordering.

Reading part involves.

• Touch (sand paper letters, movable Alphabets)
• Phonetics – combined words
• Read on seeing (Picture identification)
• Search for its meaning (integrated effort with friends)
• Gradual Perfection - From single letters to combined words, sentences followed by short stories are practiced.

We cultivate all the above in three different languages such as English, Hindi, Tamil.

4. Arithmetic

Arithmetic helps in quantifying the numbers followed by figures imparting with its importance to values and appreciating accuracy. Enabling counting ability, understanding the shapes and sizes, read numbers, learn number names gradually. This enhances learning through practice. Placing the numbers in orderly manner is developed.

5. Culture

Culture development is imparting knowledge on geography, history, botany, general science, art and music. Culture understanding usually helps to enhance the opportunity to meet the basic necessity of life such as shelter, clothing, understand for living and convey in the respective language, use specified tools, realize the transportation facility, perceive their rituals and celebrations, praise their religion and work on crafts.

We give our kids quality time for real-life activities to gain experience on all aspects. These activities develop child’s culture, social behaviour, language, mathematics, etc.
